Want to know how you may troubleshoot problems with resetting your printers? First things first, you have to consider what brand you own. In this regard, you should take note of the following tips.
1. Resetting your HP printers. If you own an HP laser printer, you should basically use cold resetting. This process will bring back the HP printer to its factory default settings. This will affect all control panel settings.
2. Resetting your Lexmark printers. Simply switch off your printer first then while turning it on, make sure you’ve pressed the RETURN and READY buttons as well. After that, you will reach the diagnostics mode with the display mode showing the phrase “performing self test”. Reset the “Maintenance count” to zero before going back to diagnostics mode. Then reset the printer to get your printer back to the normal mode.
3. Resetting your Dell printers. This can be done by double-clicking over the “Reset Dell Printer” icon that can be found after you’ve clicked “UAN” and “System Utilities”. Make sure that the printer’s USB cable is connected to the PC.
4. Resetting your Samsung printers. There are four MENU keys that you should press quickly in succession. These are numbers 1, 9, 3 and 4. Once you’re through with this, make sure the display shows the word “TECH”. Then press on the MENU and ENTER keys and you will see the words “TECH MODE” on the display. Click on the “<” twice and you will see “New Printer Cartridge” displayed. Select ENTER and when the panel shows the word YES, press the ENTER key once more. Exit using Menu keys 1, 9, 3 and 4.
5. Resetting your Brother Printers. You just have to press the UP and DOWN keys until the word “Maintenance 99″ shows up on the display. Hold the “SET” button down to bring the printer to standby mode.
Now that you’ve known how to troubleshoot any printer brand, you can perform this very well. Take note however that some printer models from each brand may have varying resetting techniques as well. Better check on that with your printer manual or with your manufacturer.
